Vibrating Furnace Charges are effective solutions to problems such as high labour cost, hazards to furnace operators faced in foundries, melting shops etc. Such a kind of automation allows foundry men to work at a safe distance thus preventing injures arising out of molten metal splash. It also facilitates in rapid and quick charging of the furnace thereby allowing maximum utilization of the furnace. In addition to this, the damage to furnace lining is avoided which normally occurs in manual charging of the furnaces. Principle Of Operation : The required amount of scrap metal is loaded into the storage hoper at the loading point. The trolley the carries the vibrating feeder along with the storage hopper to the furnace charging point. Here, the vibrating feeder is energized and the material is effectively discharged into the furnace as per the required capacity. As the metal is melted down, fresh batch of metal can be fed into the furnace thereby keeping the furnace full. The capacity of the vibrating feeder can be varied by varying the amplitude of variations. The amplitude of vibrations can be varied by adjusting the position of centrifugal weights or by using a variable frequency drive (optional). A control panel specially designed to suit individual client requirement depending on the sequence of operations required is provided.

ORTON vibrating screens work on the principle of linear displacement of the materials due to unbalance forces generated by two unbalance motors rotating in opposite direction. These screens are basically used to separate coarse materials from fine materials which exit in mixed form. Depending on the grading size details, the number of decks required are decided. Generally the screens are provided with on deck or two decks. In case more than two decks are required for a particular application then, two vibrating screens can be used in tandem in such a way that the finest output of the first screen can be fed as the input to the second screen. The second screen will further grade & separate the material as required. The selection of the screen deck mesh will depend on factors such as the materials to be screened, whether the material is dry & free flowing or is moist and sticky, particular size of the material to be screened, shape of the material etc. Utmost care is to be taken to ensure that the screen decks do not get clogged as this will result in reduced screening area thereby affecting the output of the screen. Basic Construction : The screen body is extremely sturdy & rugged made up of mild steel of adequate thickness. The thickness of the steel plates depends upon the size of the screen & the selected motor. Depending on the material to be screened, the sieve analysis & other related factors, suitable screen decks are provided. Normally these decks are in the form of wire mesh or perforated plates. These screens are mounted on the structural framework via specially designed mounting springs. The selection of these springs will depend on the total weight of the equipment & the motor rpm. These screens are usually base mounted, however they can also be suspended if the situation demands. The screens are provided with suitable inlet & outlet openings as required by the customer. The positioning of the outlets will depend upon the requirement of the customer.

A.C. Supply. The vibrating frequency depends on the revolutions of the rotary unit & can be chosen from four ranges available viz, : 3000, 1500, 1000, 750 vibrations per minute. The Centrifuge force can be adjusted from zero to maximum by manipulating the relative positions of the eccentric weights provided on either side of the shaft. Various models are available giving a wide choice of Centrifugal force, frequency of vibration, mounting position, Insulation etc. The customer is therefore assured of getting the most suitable vibrator to meet this requirements. When used as a single unit, they impact circular vibrations. If directional vibrations are needed, two vibrators running in the opposite direction should be use. This reels shown in this catalogue are direct reeling units where the cable compartment is mounted directly on the torque controller. For those applications where the length and weight of the cable is in excess of the design capability of the direct reeling units, we have the indirect driven torque controller reels. With these reels the torque controller unit powers the reel compartment through a suitably selected transmission system. These types of cable reels are a reliable, low cost solution for reeling long lengths of cable. These drums are available for a complete range of cable lengths from 30 to 500 meters, for voltage upto 11000 V. These drums are easily installed, have an absolute minimum maintenance requirement and are virtually unaffected by extremes of temperature and environment. These types of cable reeling drums are available in 3 types viz monospiral, standard lay and random lay. Advantages Uses standard AC or DC motor as prime motor. This design reduces tensions in the reeled cable substantially as against other form of drive. Lubricated for life gearbox. Range of drive units to suit various sizes and length of cable to be reeled. Reduced overall size as compared with conventional motor. No chain drives, hence reduced maintenance. Selected reel will cover wide range of cable length & sizes. No additional brake required. Combinations of core sizes and quantities can be readily accommodated, in standard size of housing.

Thrustor operated brakes are suitable to work on 415V. 3 Phase A.C. supply for a wide range of drum sizes from 100 mm to 400mm dia with braking torque ranging from 6KgM. to 110 KgM. The mechanism is balanced to give equal shoe clearance throughout the face of drum. The torque is applied by heavy duty compression springs or weight with thrustor. Thrustor is an electro-hydraulic device designed to exert a constant force to any mechanism to be operated. This thrust can be effectively used in actuation of any part of mechanism like levers, to achieve the desired result. The self contained, compact unit needs only 415 V3 Ph electric supply to actuate it.

Feature : Self contained unit-needs no external components or accessories.

These types of cable reeling drums are normally used for cables of size 4C X 25 sq mm (max) and cable lengths upto 20 mtrs. However these drums can be used even upto 150 mtrs if the cable diameter is small (say 4C X 2.5 sq. mm ) In case of stall torque motorized cable reeling drum the stall torque motor remains energized in both winding and unwinding operation of cable. In case you want to save power during long stoppages of machine, then a contactor and timer circuit can be installed in your panel. However, this is only an optional feature and is not a mandatory requirement. Since the stall torque motors are continuously on during both winding and unwinding direction.

These cable drums are sued for both AC and DC applications. These reels recovers and store the cable in multiple layers on the drum. Standard reels are supplied for the cable fed in the clockwise direction, When viewed from the Slipring side. The same can be provided form anticlockwise feed of cable also. These reels are extremely simple to mount and can be mounted on the structure with the help of supporting flange. If no suitable structure is available, then a bracket can be connected to the flange and this can be fixed to the floor or tray etc. The springs used in these reels are manufactured from the highest quality materials and are of clock spring type. A wide range of characteristics can be obtained by assembling these singly or in series or in parallel. All the power sliprings are designed for 600V AC operating voltage. Spring operated cable reeling drums can also be supplied with geared rotary limit switch arrangement.

These conveyors have proved their reliability in transporting bulk material over limited distances. Depending on requirement and applications vibrating conveyors are available in electromagnetic & electromechanical types. Electromagnetic conveyors make use of an electromagnetic drive for generation of vibrations whereas electromechanical conveyors are powered by two unbalance motors rotating in possible directions. Electromagnetic vibrators are used in applications where stepless variation of feed rate from 0-100% is required. On the other hand electromechanical vibrators are used where the feed rate is not required to be changed frequently during operation or where a relatively constant feed rate is required. Electromechanical vibrating feeders are powered by two unbalance motors which rotate in opposite directions. These types of feeders can be supplied in two types viz, through type and tubular type depending on the type of application and material being conveyed. Electromagnetic vibrating feeders are equipped with electromagnetic drives which generate vibrations required for conveying of material. The electromagnetic drives are robust in construction with very high reliability factor. These conveyors come with a specially designed controller required for operation of the electromagnetic conveyor. These controllers convert the input AC supply voltage into pulsating DC output which results in generation of vibrations.

Electromagnetic vibrating feeders are equipped with electromagnetic drives which generate vibrations required for conveying of material. The electromagnetic drives are robust in construction with very high reliability factor. These conveyors come with a specially designed controller required for operation of the electromagnetic conveyor. These controllers convert the input AC supply voltage into pulsating DC output which results in generation of vibrations. A thyristor such as a silicon controlled rectifier is used for this purpose. The fringe angle of the SCR can be varied sleeplessly using a potentiometer or an analogous electrical signal / PLC signal from an external command variable unit, which in turn increases / decreases the amplitude of vibrations thereby controlling the output of the conveyor as required. As in the case of electromechanical feeders depending on the material conveyed, the conveyors can be supplied on two types viz, through type and tubular type. Suitable liners in case of through conveyors are provided where severely abrasive materials are handled as in the case of electromechanical conveyors. These brakes are used when a load must be stopped rapidly to prevent the load from rotating due to the motor & load inertia at a select predetermined time or a selected point of travel or to prevent over-traveling. These Brakes are robust construction & simple in design. Reliable braking action, efficient transmission of braking are features of these brakes. All parts are easily accessible hence quick maintenance. These brakes are provide with powerful, short stroke, electromagnets. The magnetic gap is adjusted by holding the end lock nut. Brake coils are provided with epoxy encapsulated coil with class "F" insulation. These chains can be used for horizontal applications, vertical applications, circular movements as well as combined horizontal and vertical movements. Construction Base & Brakes are Cast Iron high grade, Shoes are self-aligned, easily removable with fabric lining fixed with aluminum rivets. Magnet is solenoid type with laminated magnetic circuit having pole faces to ensure quiet operation. Operation Compression springs provide the necessary working pressure to apply the brake. Release is effected by a single phase electromagnet. A hand release lever is fitted to the lock brake in the "off" position when required.
