To preserve the longevity of a natural stone installation it is very important to protect it with a proper sealer. All natural stone are porous (granite less than ½ % water). As long as we have an absorption factor, stone will stain and deteriorate over time since the regular tap water used in maintenance contains salts, minerals and chlorine -which are all detrimental to natural stone. In addition more and more "decorative" marbles are being selected and used for their beauty and not their strength. These marbles are generally very prone to foot abrasion and staining. Every stone has a unique and special requirements and structure, which must be taken into account and discussed in evaluating the Aesthetic benefits of stone restoration and preservation. Not every stone is a candidate for restoration. This can be only determined by performing a stone audit by experienced professional. Hyklas Overseas offers a special stone audit at your home or property to review your special needs. Specialized Stone Installation: Our specialty is seamless installation of stones. Conventionally, stones are cut with ordinary blades and these roughly finished stones are joined together using cement. Consequently with the passage of time, the cement starts coming off leaving a black line where dust begins to accumulate. But what differentiates us from this conventional method is that we use special cutting blades to provide smoothest finish and join these stones using chemical epoxy giving it a look of seamless hairline installation. This chemical epoxy eradicates cracks, provides longevity and thus enhances the aesthetics of the floor. We offer our stone flooring in honed, polished, brushed and velvet finishes.
