Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (aka: annealed glass) creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. as a result of its safety and strength, toughened glass is used in a variety of demanding applications, including passenger vehicle windows, shower doors, architectural glass doors and tables, refrigerator trays, mobile screen protectors, as a component of bulletproof glass, for diving masks, and various types of plates and cookware.

Sure Flex coupling can be installed quickly and easily, because there are no bolts, gaskets, covers or seals. Alignment can be checked with a straightedge placed across the outside of the precision-machined flanges. No special tools are needed for installation, alignment or removal. TORSIONAL Sure-Flex coupling sleeves have an exceptional ability to absorb torsional shock and dampen torsional vibrations. The EPDM and Neoprene sleeves wind-up approximately 15° torsionally at their rated torque. Hytrel sleeves will wind-up about 7°. ANGULAR The unique design of the Sure-Flex coupling’s teeth allows for the absorption of angular misalignment without wear. Refer to page F1—18 for actual allowable misalignment limits. These limits allow for the alignment of the coupling using only a scale and calipers. PARALLEL Parallel misalignment is absorbed without wear or appreciable energy losses. The lateral flexibility of the coupling sleeve minimizes radial bearing loads normally associated with parallel misalignment. This feature also allows for easier installation by the use of components bored for slip fits without fretting corrosion occurring at the shaft. Refer to page F1—18 for parallel misalignment limits. Only a straight-edge and feeler gage are required to obtain these limits. AXIAL Sure-Flex couplings may be used in applications with limited axial shaft movements. The axial compressibility of the EPDM and Neoprene sleeves allows for shaft endfloat without the absolute transfer of thrust loads.

Our range of Resilient Couplings give you a combination of advantages of high power rating of a gear coupling and flexibility of elastomer coupling. They are easy to install and simple to maintain. The flexible grids are quickly replaceable without disturbing the connected equipment. Resilient Couplings are available in broad range of sizes covering from 0.45 kW to 1307 kW per 100 rpm and bores upto 267mm. CONSTRUCTION : A High torque Resilient Coupling basically comprises a grid spring which connects two hubs – one on the driving and the other on the driven shafts – through axially cut grooves around the peripheries of the two hubs. The spring, which is of special design compatible to the required characteristics of the system, form a series of resilient bridges along the grooves. The grooves are flared to allow the grid members long flexible spans under normal loads as well as better support by the sides of the grooves under over load conditions. The stiffness of the spring and thus the coupling depends on the length of each flexible span not in the contact with the grooves. Subsequently, the contact length changes with every variation in torque, resulting in change in the stiffness of the coupling at every instant during a vibration cycle. Consequently this produces a powerful detuning action resulting in continuous alteration of the torsional vibration frequency and prevention of a build up of resonance in the system. The principle of design adopted in Resilient Coupling, makes it capable to accommodate considerable axial, parallel and angular misalignment between a driving machine and a driven machine. Simultaneously, it can absorb considerable overloads due to high torque with consequent reduction in wear and tear on plants and machinery. With the use of resilient couplings, break-down and down time in any manufacturing unit, will be minimum.

Pin Bush coupling is a modified form of the protected type flange coupling. A Pin Bush coupling has pins and it works with coupling bolts. The rubber or leather bushes are used over the pins. The coupling has two halves dissimilar in construction. The pins are rigidly fastened by nuts to one of the flange and kept loose on the other flange. This coupling is used to connect of shafts which having a small parallel misalignment, angular misalignment or axial misalignment. In this coupling the rubber bushing absorbs shocks and vibration during its operations. This type of coupling is mostly used to couple electric motors and machines.

The design is ideal for applications where non-spacer gear couplings are to be replaced by metaflex couplings.this design has twin disc packs permitting misalignment in all directions.either driving or driven equipment is to be shifted for removal of disc packs. series 80 ccs – this is also a close coupled design. Gear coupling are torsionally rigid and are supplied to two designs – completely flexible and flexible/rigid. A completely flexible coupling comprises two hubs with an external gear and two outer sleeves with an internal gear. It’s a universal coupling for all sorts of applications and accommodates all possible misalignments (angular, offset and combined) as well as large axial moments. Machines, bearings, seals, and shafts are therefore not subjected to the additional forces, sometimes of considerable magnitude, which arise from unavoidable misalignment usually associated with rigid shaft couplings. A flexible/rigid coupling comprises one flexible geared half and one rigid half. It does not accommodate parallel displacement of shafts but does accommodate angular misalignment. This type of couplings are primarily used for “floating shaft” applications   Sizes 010 – 070 all have crowned teeth with a 20° pressure contact This enables to accommodate up to 1,5° static angular misalignment per gear mesh. However, minimizing the operational misalignment will maximize the life of the coupling as well as the life of other machinery components such as bearings etc.   Each sleeve flange is supplied with two pipe plugs 180° apart. DAs Seal is a double-acting seal and guide element comprising of a rubber seal, two split support rings and two split bearings, located either side of the seal. The profile seal ring seals in both the static and dynamic range whilst the backup rings prevent extrusion into the sealing gap. The function of the guide rings is to guide the piston in the cylinder tube and to absorb transverse forces. The design provides a compact seal andguide combination for a closed or split installation groove. It is a combination seals used in hydraulic applications as well as some heavy industries. The nitrile rubber seal has proved itself to be extremely wear resistant in service. It is designed to be compressed by the housing to ensure a low pressure seal and when pressurised be protected from extrusion damage by the extending lips of the support ring. A tough flexible polymer is used for the support ring which is scarf cut for assembly and to protect the seal from damage. This type is characterized by a Z-shaped back-up ring which forms a chamber with the elastomer seal ring on the inside and is centered on the outside by the guide ring. Piston Seals or Piston Rings are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing and are designed to ensure that pressurised fluid does not leak across the cylinder head as the system pressure pushes the piston down the cylinder bore.
