All cut mica plates are electrically tested by means of a high frequency spark for conducting particles and pinholes. They are then metallised with a silver paste by a screen printing method to form a thin electrodes-less than 3 mm. Silver paste is printed onto the mica in different patterns as per required specification. The actual silver metallisation is done within a range of 5 to 8 microns on both sides.The deposited layer of silver is controlled to achieve its required capacitance. Glass is used as the fusing agent. The metallising bond which unites these two elements permits diffusion of heat over a wider surface. While the points of calorofic transfer are increased, the thermic resistance does not influence the insulation of the unmetallised area of the film.

Natural Mica Washers are circular punched and stamped natural mica parts with round openings in the center suitable for electrical and electronic applications.Such natural mica washers can also be bonded into considerable lengths with shellac, epoxy or silicone binders to form a solid roll which is then called Bonded Mica Washers. Manufactured from Moulding Micanite in the form of V-Rings or Cones in different shapes and dimensions. V-Rings or Cones are initially cut out of Moulding Micanite sheets. It is then moulded under heat and pressure to match individual specifications with the help of moulds/dies specially prepared for the process. It gives excellent results but is labour intensive having slow production. Application : Specially used as an insulation in commutators of high voltage rotating machines.

MICA FLAKES have been preferably used in water-based and oil based oil-well drillings operations as an additive mud chemical to prevent loss of circulation and seepage. Mica is specially added to seal-off the lost circulation zones. The platy structure of mica facilitates the overlapping of particles to form a layer or wall and acts as a sealent that bridges the openings. The use of mica helps to seal porous formations and contributes to regain circulation keeping the solids in suspension.   The technique adopted is to mix quantities of mica flakes and granular bentonite into special batches of mud which is pumped down the hole. The drill pipe is then withdrawn and the hole left undisturbed for a time being. Mica flakes tends to plate out on the walls at the lost zones and reduce the size of the holes through which the mud can pass. After a short interval, the plug is strong enough to permit circulation to resume without loss. Drilling then proceeds normally until a depth well below the lost circulation zone.

All Mica Band Heaters Below 60mm Dia will not have Screw Post Terminals.
